There are numerous castles to visit in North Wales, we have the spectacular castles at Caernarvon and Conway but also smaller versions spread around the countryside. They all have their own stories to tell. Stories of battles and sieges, romance and intrigue, murder and mystery, if only the walls could talk we would have many other stories to tell.
The stately homes that are dotted around the area also have their own tales to tell, some like Erddig at Wrexham which were left just as their owners vacated the property and depending on the time of year many places hold special events like Victorian weekends where you can experience life in a different time.
The area of North Wales has some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever see. When entering North Wales along the A5 you will see the Berwyn Mountains, leading on to Bala Lake and off into the Snowdonia National Park, where you will see Wales’ tallest mountain Snowdon. If you have time you can take a walk up the mountain or if not feeling so energetic take the train.
Assistance with family heritage visits to the area.
Today many people are keen to trace their family heritage and often like to go back to their roots by visiting their ancestral homes and villages. Although this is a special area and can be quite time consuming I have assisted a number of people with visits to their old families’ home.
These are popular with walking groups and societies that want to have a tour around a town and get some fresh air at the same time. They usually last about two hours and invariably end up at a local hotel for a drink and a bite to eat.
